The Old Wall Reef

The Old Wall is a large reef about one mile south of St Anthony’s Head. The shallowest point is around 8m (LW) and stretches for a couple of hundred metres from north to south. Towards the north it drops down to 12m, to the west down to 25m, to the east or south it drops off to 35m. The shallower area is covered with kelp and quite a lot of life. As it gets deeper sandy patches appear and the visible life changes. Once the kelp disappears it’s covered in the life you’d expect to see on Cornwall’s reefs.

The Old Wall can be dived at all states of the tide, either as a slack water dive or as a drift dive.
